Questions you might have.

A question mark made out of multicoloured pencils.

Below are some of the questions you might have about learning

with the project. If you have a question that is not answered here,

please click here to get in touch.

When are the lessons?

The lessons are once a week. When you register with the project, we can talk about what days and times are best for you to study. Then we can agree a time for the lessons.

Where are the lessons?

At the moment because of the situation with Covid 19, lessons are over the telephone or online. As soon as it's safe, we can arrange to have lessons in person.

Who is the teacher?

I'm the teacher and my name is Sarah.

You can read more about me and why

I started the project by clicking here.

How long are the lessons?

They can be from half and hour up to 1.5 hours. When you register we can talk about how long you would like them to be and agree a time together. They can get shorter or longer if you would like them to (up to 1.5 hours).

Is there a way to study if I can't come to lessons?

There is an independent learning option, where I can send you learning activities to do in your own time. To find out more, click here.

Do I have to come to lessons every week?

It's good for your learning if you can come to lessons every week but I know that this might be difficult. When you register we can talk about what you feel you can do at the moment and agree a plan together.

What if I miss a lesson?

We might both have times when we can't come to sessions. If I cannot come to a lesson for any reason, I will always let you know as soon I can. If you can also tell me if you can't some to a lesson, that is really helpful.

If you miss a lesson and can't let me know before the lesson, we can talk about the reasons why this has happened and if there is anything that we can do to make it easier for you to come to lessons.

School was quite hard for me. Will this be the same?

If school was difficult for you, it can be hard to think about studying again. If you're interested in studying but feel unsure, we can have a chat about the lessons and any worries you have. If you want to, we can talk about what was hard at school, so that we can study together in a different way. That way, we can work in a way that is comfortable and enjoyable for you.

What if I want to get in contact with the teacher?

You can click here to contact me or ask your keyworker or the staff at your hostel to pass a message onto me.

I don't have some the things I need to study (notebook, pens). Can you help?

Yes! When you register with the project, we will talk about things you might need to help you study (pens, notebook, plastic wallets, folder). If you don't have any of them, they can be included in your Welcome Pack.

What if I lose my worksheets?

When you register with the project we can talk about ways to keep your work safe. If you lose worksheets they can be sent and printed for you again.
